Day 5: ghostboy|inter@ctive daily update.

I'm  writing this post late, because today was Mother's day.  The day was spent with my family watching classic 80's films like, The Goonies.

My three daughters made their mum breakfast in bed, which was sweet.  They also made her wonderfully crafted cards, and gave her  lots of chocolates.

Today, was also TOC Bologna.  Tools of Change for Publishing, at the Bologna  Children's Book Fair.

My Kindle book, "Ghostboy and the Nameless Grave" received a shout-out during a keynote speach held by, Elizabeth Wood, who is the director of digital publishing for Worldreader.

I had planned to upload in-kind sponsor's logos to the ghostboy sites this weekend.  This will now be done tomorrow, Monday.

Day 4: ghostboy|inter@ctive daily update.

Day 4. Exhibition Banner Art.

I met up with an old school friend of mine earlier today. It’s a wonderful thing to still be in touch with old school friends after so many years, blimey - I’m starting to feel, old! His son wanted to see my work and how I put it all together; he wants to be a comic artist.

He was telling me about all the characters he’s created - over 30 in total. He reminded me of, me when I was his age. I was always creating new characters and giving them crazy names.

This afternoon, I finished off the artwork for one of my sponsored pull-up banners. Check it out below. I hope you like it. This will be used when I attend comic conventions, events and schools. This banner is kindly sponsored by: www.exhibitionbannersuk.co.uk

Day 3: ghostboy|inter@ctive daily update.

Day 3. Tablet Kitchen.

I forgot to post this yesterday...

On my way home from ghostboyHQ yesterday, I passed a kitchen store, like I do everyday when walking to and from work. Only this time I remembered to actually take a photo of what I think looks very much like a “Tablet Kitchen.” I love it!

This afternoon, I put together a bunch of sponsors packs, which I had planned to do on Monday, but like most days, things don’t quiet go according to plan. Four days later, and I actually got round to doing it. I then hastily made my way over to what was a very busy Post Office, and posted them.

Also this afternoon, I received a very positive email, which I cannot disclose at this time, but will fill you in once things are concrete. It is very exciting!

Right, I’m off now to do a spot of tweeting...

Day 2: ghostboy|inter@ctive daily update.

Day 2.  This morning when I checked my twitter, I was pleasently surprised to find that I had gained many new followers.  I had a feeling that this would pan out to be a good day.

My day began with me going to my daughter's school assembly, where she and her class put on a puppet show performance.  It was AMAZING! I must admit it brought a tear to my eye.

The rest of my day was spent emailing prospective in-kind sponsors for ghostboy|inter@ctive.

Later on in the afternoon I received a package; it was the Android tablet that has been kindly sponsored by www.cintamani.co.uk This post has been written using the tablet.

Day 1: ghostboy|interactive daily update.

Day 1. The journey has begun...

I was intending to wait until actual production started, before I began posting ghostboy|inter@ctive updates. It was yesterday, when I decided against this. I was thinking how the past few weeks have been up and down, and I have not really shared these experiences, other than the occasional tweet.

One of the main aspects of ghostboy|inter@ctive is that it is completely crowd funded and aided by sponsorship deals. From the very beginning I have wanted to include my fans and members of the public throughout the process of this project; from concept to completion. So starting from today, I will be posting daily updates, to keep you all informed of this exciting and inspiring journey.

Like I mentioned above, the past few weeks have been a bit of roller-coaster. On the 7th February 2012, I launched the ghostboy|inter@ctive crowd funding campaign. This coincided with the launch of www.ghostboyinteractive.com the official ghostboy|inter@ctive site. This is a temporary site, which will be replaced with the ‘real’ site later on this year.

As you will be aware, I have sponsorship options available on the ghostboy|inter@ctive site, which also includes the option to sponsor via www.sponsume.com

The response has been amazing, with lots of support. I have been using twitter on a daily basis promoting the project, in the hope of attracting new fans and sponsors. This is proving to be very effective, although the past few days have been very quiet.

Yesterday was an AMAZING day in regards to in-kind sponsorship deals. I’m proud to announce the support of www.ebanners.co.uk who will be sponsoring us with a pull-up banner to take to conventions and events to promote ghostboy|inter@ctive. www.cintamani.co.uk have also come on-board as sponsors. They are providing us with a 7” Android tablet, which will be used in the testing and development stage of the project. The tablet will also be used at conventions and events, as well as taking into schools as part of the ‘Learn with Ghostboy’ scheme.

24HR MONSTER DRAW!

THE GREAT FREE COMIC BOOK DAY COLLABORATION.

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO WRITE OR ILLUSTRATE A COMIC FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE?

WELL, http://scarycaravan.blogspot.com/ , http://limited-release.com/ , http://www.3millionyears.co.uk/ and http://www.darkriverpress.com/ ARE GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO DO JUST THAT.

Get your work in front of thousands of potential online readers, this Free Comic Book Day.

What we want to do is create a four-page online comic for Free Comic Book Day, and we want YOU to create it. This project is about giving writers and artists exposure via our blogs through collaboration and social networking.

Each blog will host a single page of the comic. At the end of each page, the reader will be directed to the next page that will be hosted on one of the other blogs, and so on.

For each page of comic their will be one writer and two artists chosen.

All you have to do is register your interest through one of our twitter accounts or leave a reply below, and tell us whether you are a writer or an illustrator.

We are not going to disclose the genre of the comic to be created yet.

This is how the selection process will work.

1. Writers and Artists register their interest via twitter or any of the four blogs mentioned above.
2. After a week of registration, we randomly select one writer and two illustrators per page.
3. We then contact the randomly selected writers, who are then given a small brief.
4. The writer has 10 days in which to write one page of story.
5. Once the scripts are received, they are then checked and sent out to the illustrators to create the visuals. The illustrators have 14 days in which to create the pages.
6. The artwork is then emailed to Jason James (http://scarycaravan.blogspot.com/), who will then put the pages together.
7. The pages are then submitted to each of the blogs, who will then host them on Free Comic Book Day.

So, what are yo waiting for? ENTER NOW!!! And GOOD LUCK!
